2011 High School Prospect Summer Camp

Greetings from Harvard Baseball!  Many thanks for your interest in our Harvard Baseball Camp. We are conducting our 12th Hgh School Prospect Camp at the end of the summer and we hope you can attend. The camp will be run by the Harvard Coaching Staff – Head Coach Joe Walsh, Asst Coaches Tom LoRicco, Kristaps Aldins, and Morgan Brown. The camp will feature baseball instruction, drill work, and game competition to expose your abilities through team play. Anticipate a full day of baseball, beginning at 10am and finishing around 5pm. Lunch and drinks will be provided during the day. The following is what we strive for over the two day session…Pitchers will learn solid mechanics, velocity enhancement drills, various grips, and how to identify and stop the running game. Positional players will learn swing mechanics, situational hitting, aggressive base running, and playing championship baseball within the Team concept.

The camp will be held at O’Donnell Field, home of the Harvard Crimson. Our staff will also have on hand former Harvard players. We expect to have other coaches that will be invited, many coming from strong academic schools throughout New England. Please note that we will not have coaches from other Ivy schools. During the course of the summer, we recruit on a National level, but find it difficult to be everywhere we would like to go. Hosting the camp at this time is designed not interfere with your summer team schedule. The camp has been proven to be a huge success in our requiting resulting in 14 players who currently are on the Harvard roster that have been seen at this camp. The 2010/11 Harvard Baseball Team will have five freshmen players on the roster who were camp attendees last summer. Many of our camp attendees will have come simply by returning the Harvard Questionnaire we sent you with the camp request box checked off. The feedback we receive from players when exiting the camp has been truly remarkable! Each two day session usually attracts around 75 players. The most valuable part of this camp is we get to find out about you on a personal level and your work habits. On the same level, you get to find out about us and Harvard. This is a major part in selecting a college to spend the next 4 years. We look forward to seeing you!

Please note: Each player will be responsible for their own transportation and lodging. Upon receipt of deposit, an enrollment conformation will be mailed to you with directions, local restaurants, and accommodation info (we help in putting players together if needed).
